    Hunakamo Media Accreditation Guidelines 2024

The accreditation and operation of journalists and photographers (hereafter referred to as media professionals) at Hunakamo competitions is governed by these guidelines. These instructions will enter into force on 2 April 2023 and supersede the 2013 version. One of the key points of the regulation is that visible safety (photographer) vests will be provided by Hunakamo/drifting.hu to photographers, so the issued vests by photographers are now only valid with the specific permission of the organiser, and new vests can be requested on site.

Purpose of the instruction: The clear aim of the instruction is to ensure that only accredited media representatives are allowed to view sporting events under special conditions. We want to ensure that only those members of the press who are clearly entitled to do so for objective reasons are granted accreditation with special rights to publicise Hunakamo sporting events. We would like media representatives with accreditation to actively contribute to the promotion of drift sport in the manner and to the extent that they are expected to do so.

This means that in the future, that person in which working with or even without an amateur work equipment can't be allowed to wear a high visibility safety (photo) vest. The reason for this, is that the inappropriate presence of such persons can often make the work of professional photographers difficult, and there may also be incidents where press photographers with dubious credentials are in a prohibited zone. In addition to the above-mentioned reasons, the drafting of the instruction was also necessary to ensure that the principles of press recognition and accreditation are uniform and predictable everywhere, in order to ensure proper press coverage of the sport and the proper working of press personnel.

Media law: The making of video recordings and photographs suitable for commercial sale or intended for commercial sale, and their public presentation, at competitions, events and other events organised by Hunakamo, is only possible with the written permission of Hunakamo and within the framework of partnership agreements with Hunakamo!

Scope of the instruction: The instructions must be applied to competitions and events organised by Hunakamo. The instructions set out the obligations and duties of media representatives in order to establish good press practice.

The staff and owners of certain supporters' groups, private websites, blogs not related to the media are not considered as members of the press and accreditation for them can only be issued under special conditions.

Accreditation of press staff: Press personnel may only enter the competitions in the Hunakamo competition system specified in these instructions with prior accreditation, photo identification or other proof of identity and access. On-site accreditation is not possible.

Method and conditions for accreditation: The pre-accreditation is done electronically and Hunakamo will notify the Media of its acceptance in writing. Those submitting applications that are acceptable under special conditions will be notified in writing of these conditions. Confirmation of acceptance of accreditation will be sent by the organisers no later than the end of the week preceding the competition. The accreditation must be carried out in such a way that the media representatives can be individually identified and properly distinguished by the organisers. The accreditation of members of the press must be completed no later than 5 days before the competition. Only persons with the appropriate accreditation can be admitted to and remain in the premises and areas reserved for the press.

Rights and obligations of members of the press: Accredited journalists have the right to use and work in the areas allocated to them, but must fully comply with the rules and regulations for attending a sporting event. In addition to the Hunakamo standards, they must also comply with the general standards of conduct, location and working conditions laid down during accreditation. The organiser of each event shall specify the routes and the places where press staff may travel and carry out their activities. This information will be communicated to the media at the mandatory media briefing held at the event. Accredited press officers are required to conduct themselves in a manner that is in the best interests of the drift sport, the drifting.hu, Hunakamo and its sponsors and the media. If members of the press engage in excessive fan behaviour at a sporting event and verbally or physically abuse officials, competitors, referees, owners, etc., their accreditation will be immediately revoked.

Anyone who breaks the pre-established rules for viewing competitions will be removed from the competition. Information about the person removed and the reason for the removal will be recorded in all cases. If the removal is based on an offence, the organiser and the organiser must initiate police proceedings. Hunakamo will inform the media representative concerned of the incident and arrange for access privileges to be suspended.

Hunakamo reserves the right to request 10 images without logos from media representatives for its own use.

When publishing press materials, including in particular social media appearances, media staff must use the event designations provided in advance by Hunakamo. In the visual materials published, media personnel are obliged to include the Hunakamo and the event logo, which will be sent electronically by the Hunakamo representative upon acceptance of accreditation. Exemption from these obligations may be obtained with the prior written permission of Hunakamo.

Accreditation and working conditions for photographers: Photographers may only enter the sports event area after proof of eligibility and acceptance of accreditation. Photographers shall comply with the current Advertising and Marketing Regulations of Hunakamo and drifting.hu, shall not interfere with television coverage or obstruct the visibility of the official media areas of Hunakamo and drifting.hu. The photographer must always be identifiable by the number of his high visibility safety vest, and must always provide proof of his identity upon request. The vest is not transferable to another person. Hunakamo will provide high-visibility safety vests to accredited media, who will be required to account for them on an up-to-date basis. High visibility safety vests will be issued to photographers for permanent use only in justified cases. The wearing of additional vests is strictly forbidden, the distinctive clothing alone entitles photographers to access to areas open to them for work purposes, and the high visibility safety vest must be worn as intended during the competition. When picking up these vests, the photographer must show his/her photo ID and pay a deposit of 5000 HUF/20 EUR, the organiser's representatives will record the number of vests / how many of each vest the photographer has picked up and the deposit handed over.

Media representatives are not allowed to enter the field during the exercise of their work, except for the time intervals and places set by the director!
Members of the media are not allowed to work in the "organiser" zones, where this vest does not authorise them to enter. Photographers, when in their work area, are not allowed to have any contact with the competitors. Photographers may not criticise or ask questions of competitors or other officials about their results or activities.

Media briefing, finalization of accreditation: media representatives are obliged to attend a briefing by a Hunakamo representative, who will inform in writing the accredited media of the date and place of the briefing.

Provisions on high visibility safety (photo) vests: Media representatives will receive the vests in writing from the organiser, who will be obliged to pay a replacement cost of 5 000 HUF/20 EUR per piece in case of loss. The organiser may only issue the vest after accreditation and must verify that the person applying for accreditation is a professional photographer working for a media outlet (e.g. not taking pictures for their own website or for a supporters' group) and, if necessary, that they have professional equipment.

TV staff and their work: TV crews covering or filming the competition may be positioned in pre-arranged positions, wearing distinctive high-visibility safety vests. The camera must be no closer than 4 metres from the competition area and must not interfere with the evacuation and evacuation procedure. During the race, interviews with persons on the start grid, in the grid area, in the queuing area are prohibited, and only personnel strictly necessary for the filming of the race may be present on or near the edge of the track.

Press conference (optional event, announced in advance by Hunakamo): Before or after the competitions, the organiser and a representative of Hunakamo will meet the media at a press conference, which will be open only to accredited members of the press. As a general rule, this press conference will start no later than one hour after the end of the race due to the time limits for the participation of the winners.

Final provisions: In case of violation of the instruction, the organizer will act and Hunakamo or the representative of drifting.hu will determine the responsibility.
